Spinal Injuries Association

Thank you for thinking about supporting The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) through taking on a challenge that it has bought you to this point. We hope you find and event that interests you, we are very grateful for your support.

Every year in the UK over 1,000 people experience a spinal cord injury, and there are an estimated 40,000 spinal cord injured people in the UK alone.

Most spinal cord injuries result in full or partial paralysis and the impact of an injury can turn the lives of those affected, as well as their families lives upside down.

With timely access to the right support and information people can still enjoy a fulfilled life after injury.  The Spinal Injuries Association:

  • Support spinal cord injured individuals and their families from the moment their injury occurs for the rest of their lives
  • Provide services and information that enable and encourage paralysed people to lead independent lives
  • Campaign for improved medical and social care for spinal cord injury

There are no minimum sponsorship targets but we do ask that you aim to raise as much as you can to cover your event registration costs so all funds over and above this cost can go directly to our beneficiaries. As an example of how your fundraising can make a difference, every £40.00 you raise could provide an hour of professional telephone counselling to help a family member cope with the devastating effect that spinal cord injury has on families.

We look forward to welcoming you to TeamSIA.
