Antibiotic Research UK

UK Antibiotic Research UK was established in 2014, as a charity, to tackle the global threat of drug-resistant infections. If the world does not act now, the number of deaths is predicted to rise to 10 million by 2050. Our mission is to tackle the urgent global threat of drug-resistant infections. Our vision is a world free from death and suffering due to drug-resistant infections and we aim to accomplish this through • Research • Patient Information and Support • Raising Awareness - with a renewed focus on Complex UTIs. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a major global threat across human, animal, plant, food, and environmental sectors. In 2019, it was estimated that almost 5 million deaths were associated with bacterial AMR, including 1.27 million deaths being directly caused by it (The Lancet).
