Changing Pathways

Changing Pathways is a trauma-informed domestic abuse and stalking service supporting adults, children, and young people across South Essex. We provide non-judgemental support to help individuals move from crisis to safety, stability, and recovery.

Our services are shaped by the diverse needs of survivors and include community and refuge-based support, counselling, and specialist provision within hospitals. We work with people of all genders and backgrounds, recognising that every experience of abuse is unique.

Our team includes Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), Hospital IDVAs, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Children and Young People’s Advocates, refuge staff, counsellors, and stalking specialists. They offer personalised support at every stage—from risk assessment and safety planning to emotional and practical guidance.

We are proud of our Cultural Specialist Team, who ensure our services are inclusive and accessible. Their lived experience, cultural knowledge, and language skills help break down barriers and build trust within minoritised communities.

Changing Pathways is committed to long-term healing and resilience. Together with survivors, we create new pathways—from fear to freedom, and from surviving to thriving.
