BSAVA PetSavers

BSAVA PetSavers has been funding veterinary research for over 50 years, with more than £2.7 million in grants awarded to over 300 research projects since 1974.

PetSavers funds clinically relevant research into the diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases affecting companion animals, supporting the future of pet health. It is one of few funding bodies dedicated to the study and improvement of pet medicine and surgery and achieves its aim by awarding grants to veterinary surgeons, nurses, and academics in universities and veterinary practices.

Investment has funded vital research in areas as diverse as cancer, heart disease, neurological disorders, bone and joint disease, immunological conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, and skin disease. The funded research has real, in-practice relevance for veterinary professionals, so every pound invested could lead to the latest knowledge, technology and treatment approaches being put into the hands of vets and vet nurses.

PetSavers strives to be the UK’s leading provider of grants exclusively for clinical research into pet diseases. In recent years, support has expanded to clinical researchers at all stages of their careers, including students. Student project grants enable promising early career researchers to build the skills and experience needed to become life-long researchers in veterinary science.
