London Ride 100

The Prudential Ride London 100 is one of the hottest cycling events in the UK. This fantastic event is the brainchild of the London marathon organisers and in conjunctions with the Mayor of London, his agencies and Surrey council. The 100-mile event places a massive emphasis on charities and really does tick all the boxes if you are looking to cycle for a charity in 2016 and get fit at the same time.

The 2016 event is on August 10th and although the ballot places are available, you can still sign up to ride for one of the hundreds of amazing charities this event supports. The event also supports the London Marathon Charitable Trust, which supports communities and projects throughout the capital. A proportion of each rider’s entry fee goes to this amazing trust, which really does make a difference to thousands of people each year.

The cycle starts in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Pack and follows a 100-mile route, all on closed road, through the capital and into the leafy and green countryside of Surrey. There are a number rolling hills, that will definitely test your heart and lungs, before you come back into the capital and meet the amazing crowds that will help clap and cheer you on to the finish, in the Mall in central London.

If riding the whole 100-miles isn’t up your street, it is possible to sign up as part of the business relay. If you and 4 friends or colleagues are up to the challenge, you can each ride 25 miles of the course and either cycle for fun or for charity. This really is a great cycling event as an individual or a team.
